Benrus Competition 60s Watch Vintage
Benrus Competition I, 1960s, 17 jewels, manual winding, shock absorbing, automatic movement, stainless steel expandable bracelet, stainless steelfront and clear crystal back, normal vinatge wear with some scratches on glass, mechanical watch- total statement piece. Super fab. Must be wound if you want it to work.
to wind: remove watch from your wrist, grasp the crown between your thumb and index finger, and turn it slowly in a clockwise direction (away from you) until you feel firm resistance As you turn the crown, the mainspring tightens and you will feel the tension gradually increase. Most vintage manual-wind movements take about 20 to 30 turns. Stop winding immediately the moment you feel a firm, hard stop. Forcing a vintage manual-wind watch past this point can snap or damage the delicate mainspring, recommended to wind once a day at same time every day.
to set time: pull the crown out and always rotate the hands clockwise. Turning vintage hands backward can jam or damage older gear trains.
